The goal of school environmental education programs is to create the environmental citizens who will become the stewards of the environment for today and for tomorrow. A successful environmental education program incorporates learning activities aimed enhancing awareness, embedding knowledge and directing appropriate action.

Tangible Resources
These are books, magazines and videos that can be used in the classroom.

Teacher Links
These are links to sites that have an environmental education connection. Some are sites for professional organizations, some are sites with good background, some have interesting activities.

Curriculum Aids
Lessons and Activities to help deliver the curriculum for Kindergarten to Grade 8 (elementary) and Grade 9 - 12 (secondary). Choose the topics page or the course page;make your selections(grade, strand or learning area) and a list of appropriate activities/lesson plans with brief descriptions will be displayed. There are connections to most learning strands in the curriculum from kindergarten to grade 8, as well as many high school courses listed.

Resources to help teachers achieve these goals have been broken down into 3 areas. If you find a resource that fits into one of these categories and would like to see it included, please send the link to the Education Resource Coordinator for the DC Program.
